have a merry merry icelandic christmas! this is a christmas card that i found in iceland a few years ago. love that stunned santa! and, in iceland news...as of 12/18/98 another volcano is erupting under the vatnajokull glacier (in the southeast part of the country). this is in the same general area as the eruption in 1996 that caused all the flooding, but is not that same volcano. check out this story from the bbc online (with some nice pictures!). also you can check out the home page for the iceland meteorological office, although they only have info on the 1996 eruption. |
