keep on pushing

maura @ 5:36 pm

It’s Friday night, and I’m still at work, because I have to teach a class @ 6. Last night I was here teaching a class until 8:30, and I am tired. And also feeling a bit blag spent, since I maxed out my fashion-blagging last night.

So! I will leave you with the fashiony things that I want for xmas:

A new robe from LL Bean, because my old robe is older than Gus. And this robe is a) green and b) covered in lobsters! What could be more fun?

Some slightly fancy shoes to wear to work in the winter with skirts. I tried to get a pair from ebay for $30 earlier this week but was denied, so I might have to wait for santa to score me some new ones.

Tights in many colors! You can never have too many tights, esp. if you’re wearing skirts to work in the winter (see above).

Big ol’ rain boots, again from Bean, because when my tendonitis is finally healed I want to get back to walking to work, and if it’s rainy I’ll need boots!

That’s all for tonight! Tune in tomorrow, when I complain about composting (seriously!).

I took Max to DSW for shoes. Turns out they didn’t carry his size (he’s between kids & adults, but wtf aren’t there a bunch of people out there with this size feet?) but they did carry my size in tights. Lots of ’em!!! Even Hue, which I thought (from my extensive Googlenet research) was defunct.

Let that be a lesson to your students! Not everything is online, not even apparel.

I kid you not, I’ve been stalking those Danskos on eBay for the last month. I also like the ones with the decorative holes on the toe, but I dont’ think they make them anymore. I want black.

And what!? I hope Hue is not defunct. Even so there will be Hue at Marshalls for the next three years.

No, no, oooooh no! Not sounding the Hue alarm! I meant that DSW had Hue, but I hadn’t been able to find Hue online for some reason. Or not the Hue I was looking for. But DSW, yeah.

Man, if I can get them to leave the library with ONE chunk of knowledge embedded in their heads, it’s that not everything is on the internet. I’m teaching an entire, hourlong workshop on that very topic next week!

Can I say how much I <3 Hue: I have Hue tights FROM COLLEGE that I just wore the other day! Now, there was a period of about 10 yrs in which I didn’t wear skirts at all, but still! That’s some fine craftsmanship.
