who has time for music?

maura @ 8:44 pm

More notes from the Department of Frivolous Things that I Should Not Be Worrying About:

I am nervous about my gray hairs. Not their color, about which I really could not care less.* No, it’s the texture. It is just different: not as curly, more crazy angles.

* Though the last time I got my hair professionally cut the stylist could not refrain from offering to color it for me. I was irked + mildly offended at the time, but later I realized that he could just as easily have been going for the upsell rather than telling me that I looked old. Which is what I choose to believe, at any rate.

Right now there is still enough brown old curly hair to keep the wild new gray hairs in check and force them to curl up with the rest of the group. But what will I look like when that brown hair is all gone? Will my longstanding the Roseanna Roseannadanna nightmares finally become a reality? And how old AM I, anyway, to have just used that reference? Prehistoric!

I say forget the job interviews and attack that gray with some manic panic! You could be an actual blue hair!
I know what you mean though, my gray hairs are super wavy and stick out from my straight hair. Damn kids!

I completely agree about the texture. I just keep pulling them out, but soon I will have too many and will have to stop that, I suppose.

The only person who bugs me about mine is my mom. But once I learned how much you have to shell out to cover it up I thought, no way, I’ll just look older than my own mother.

I think that some people actually look older (and a tad sillier) with dyed hair to cover up the gray. Something about aging gracefully. Although, you have taken such good care of your skin (no sun-induced aging!) that you could pull it off. Not that I am suggesting you color it.

I apparently have been blessed to not have many gray hairs. For a while I would search and destroy, but I have been trying to let that go. Yea, the texture is awful. I don’t mind the thought of having gray hair, I am just not into the getting gray, if YKWIM.

Who does not LOVE Rosanna Rosannadanna? You should be so lucky to become her! Better her than Fr. Guido Sarducce, anyway.

Anyone who doesn’t get it, call a truant officer on ’em.

Wow, thanks for all the comments, guys! I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one with these worries. :)

Yeah, fear not, unless they offered you the old fogey discount (which, btw, I’d probably take anyway!)!

I’m all for discounts of whatever sort, so I’d take an old fogey one too!
